UROP 2024
Congratulations to Yang Yang for receiving UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) funding for Spring 2024! This award supports Yang’s continued contributions to research in the ITPHYSICS Lab, where their work explores innovative approaches in interfacial and transport phenomena. We’re excited to see their growth as an undergraduate researcher and look forward to the impact of their project this semester.
2023 APS DFD in Washington, DC – November 19-21
Congratulations to Naumi Chowdhury for successfully presenting her research at the 2023 APS Division of Fluid Dynamics (DFD) conference held in Washington, DC! Her presentation, featuring insightful conclusions on interfacial dynamics and fluid behavior, was part of a vibrant and engaging session among leading researchers in the field. We're proud to see her represent the ITPHYSICS Lab and the University of Utah on such a prestigious platform.
Fall 2023 - ITPHYSICS Up and Running!
The Interfacial and Transport Physics (ITPHYSICS) Lab is now fully operational! From state-of-the-art fabrication tools like our Epilog laser cutter to precision measurement and visualization stations, the lab is bustling with research activity. Students are already engaged in cutting-edge experiments, from droplet dynamics to microfluidic design, all within a collaborative and high-tech environment. We’re excited for the discoveries ahead as we continue exploring the complex world of interfacial transport phenomena!
Fall 2022 - ITPHYSICS Lab has been assigned!
We’re excited to announce that the Interfacial and Transport Physics (ITPHYSICS) Lab has officially been assigned a dedicated space in Room 2337 MEK! The detailed layout below shows the finalized lab design, including designated stations for equipment, bench space, and utilities. With dedicated zones for wet work, dry experiments, and collaborative research, the lab is optimized for high-throughput studies and advanced investigations in fluid dynamics, interfacial phenomena, and biothermal transport. This new space will provide a collaborative and well-equipped environment for our growing team and ongoing research initiatives.
